The Difference Between Nappa Leather and Dermis

1. Different Materials

Nappa leather generally uses well-grown calfskin as the material, and this selected calf leather is rarely damaged. It belongs to the nobles in the cowhide, so the price is higher than ordinary leather.

Ordinary leather is divided into first layer cowhide, second layer cowhide and viscose cowhide. The first layer of cowhide refers to the surface layer of the cowhide, and the second layer of cowhide refers to the layer below the first layer. The price of ordinary leather varies according to the quality of the leather.

2.  Different Quality

Nappa leather is the cowhide of healthy calves, so it feels more delicate and smooth than ordinary leather.

While ordinary leather has different grades of quality, the first layer of leather feels more delicate but easily damaged; the second layer of leather is rougher and less fleshy, but more wear-resistant. Among ordinary leathers, the better leather is bull grain leather, which is tanned with vegetable tanning agents and alum salt, which can maintain the texture of the leather to the greatest extent.

3.  Different  Uses

Because the nappa leather is a high-grade leather, it is usually used on the steering wheel or seat of a luxury car, so it appears that the luxury car has a high grade and a good touch.

Ordinary leather is commonly found in everyday appliances, such as sofas, car seats, etc., so it is wear-resistant, durable, and not easily damaged.
