How to Wash PU Leather Shoes?
Dec 13, 2021
If we have a pair of PU leather shoes in our shoe cabinet, we need to clean them regularly to make them look beautiful. Before cleaning, we must first take out the insoles from the shoes. The insole can be cleaned separately (hand wash or washing machine), or it can be directly exposed to the sun to sterilize.
After the insole is taken out, we put the prepared short-bristle brush (note that the brush bristles must be harder plastic bristles) and place them under the faucet to wet them. After wet, you can pour a little laundry detergent into the bristles. Washing shoes with laundry detergent can avoid damaging the leather on the surface of the shoes, and they can be washed very clean.
Then we picked up a shoe, drenched it under the faucet, and then used a brush coated with laundry detergent to preliminarily brush every corner of the shoe, including the sole. Remember, don’t brush the shoe too hard. The leather on the surface of the shoes is artificially damaged, even if the shoes are solid, they will be washed out. After brushing it again, rinse with water.
Then apply toothpaste (the toothpaste does not need to be too good, the ordinary kind is fine), and then apply it to the surface of the shoes, and then use a brush to brush all corners of the shoes. Toothpaste is the best shoe whitening cleaner. Using toothpaste will make the white shoes look new and no longer turn yellow and black.
Note that if the shoelaces of the shoes are not clean, you can remove the entire shoelaces and wash them in the washing machine. If you are afraid of trouble, you can repeatedly clean them with a brush. Compared with other parts of shoes, shoelaces are more difficult to clean, because shoelaces are knitted items and are easy to stain. We can add some decontamination powder to clean it, and the effect may be better.
After washing, we will clean another shoe according to this procedure. Note that the sole of the shoe also needs to be washed. Although the soles are very dirty, they will recontaminate the surface of our cleaned shoes if they are not cleaned. PU leather small white shoes can wet the whole pair of shoes without worrying about degumming (the glue used in general shoes is oil-soluble, and will not degummed in water).
Finally, we put the entire pair of shoes under the faucet and repeatedly washed them inside and out. Make sure that every corner of the shoes is rinsed, and do not leave any laundry detergent or toothpaste. Finally, we can put the shoes in the washing machine to dry, or directly put them on the balcony to dry. Be careful not to expose your shoes to the sun, as they are easily injured.
