Four Methods to Identify the Quality of Microfiber Leather
There are four main methods for identification of microfiber leather. A brief introduction to its use is hoped to help you in your future choices.
The first method to identify leather: Look
Look is mainly used to identify the type of leather and the quality of the leather grain. Observe that the surface of the leather has more obvious pores and patterns. Although synthetic leather also imitates pores, it is not complete. It's not clear. In addition, the reverse side of synthetic leather has a layer of textile as the bottom plate. This textile bottom plate is used to increase its tensile strength, while the reverse side of real leather does not have this layer of textile. This identification is the simplest and most practical method.
The second method to identify leather: smell
Good quality leather generally has no peculiar smell, all leather has the smell of leather, if there is a pungent peculiar smell, it may be caused by poor handling in the tanning process and excessive use of certain chemical raw materials .
The third method to identify leather: film
If the surface of the leather is smooth (the grain is processed into a thick leather), soft, plump and elastic, it is the real leather.
The fourth method of identifying leather: testing
The following simple tests are carried out on leather. The smell of the leather after ignition is similar to that of the hair after ignition, and it does not form lumps after burning, and can be pulverized with fingers; artificial leather emits a pungent odor when ignited, and it forms lumps after burning.
