Can Artificial Leather Replace Natural Leather?

Apr 06, 2022

If you simply consider the issue of hand feel, the microfiber leather and some high-end PU materials in the artificial leather have been able to achieve almost the same appearance as the real leather.

The closest thing is microfiber. Microfiber is a microfiber sprayed by a nozzle. After stacking to a certain thickness, the fibers are tied more tightly with needles similar to non-woven fabrics, and then filled with additives. Structurally, it is a structure of the simulated biological fiber tissue. After adding the additives, it is dried and then shaken to soften, and the base material BASE is made.

As far as the physical and chemical properties are concerned, in fact, the leather is not as good as the microfiber. The wear resistance of the microfiber, the color fastness to dry and wet rubbing, and the tearing strength are much higher than those of the leather. For daily maintenance, leather care requires detergent and conditioner. If it is not taken care of, the surface will be easy to dry and crack after a few years, while microfiber leather can be cleaned with a rag and a little water. It is easy to scratch the epidermis with a key scraper, and the scratch resistance of microfiber leather is excellent. With its own advantages, microfiber leather is widely loved by the public, so at present, microfiber leather has become the best choice to replace natural leather.
